On 2 September 2026, a fight occurred in Gorakhali Village, Southern Maungdaw. On 15 September, another fight took place between ARSA and the terrorist Arakan Army in Guta Pyin Village, Buthidaung. A third fight occurred on 21 September in Taung Bazar, Buthidaung.

On 24 September 2026, at 12:30 PM, freedom fighters of ARSA attacked major terrorist Arakan Army bases at Milepost 56 between Y Hlan Zone and Meezing Fara in Northern Maungdaw. The fighting continued until around 6:00 PM.

As a consequence of the fighting, 18 AA militants were killed, one AA militant was captured alive by ARSA freedom fighters, and many others were injured. Alhamdulillah, none of the ARSA freedom fighters were injured or martyred in the fighting.

During the fighting, ARSA freedom fighters confiscated weapons from terrorist AA including three MA-1s, two MA-2s, one AK-47, three G-3s, two RPG rounds, one 9mm pistol, 1,500 rounds of ammunition, and five grenades.

We do not fight only for the peace of the Rohingya community in Arakan State; our struggle for freedom in Arakan State is for people of every ethnicity, regardless of their religious or cultural differences.

In Arakan State, the Rohingya community has faced various forms of persecution for decades, while other ethnic minorities have also suffered similar persecution from both the genocidal Myanmar military and the terrorist Arakan Army (AA). Due to decades of violence and persecution against the Rohingya, many Rohingya have been displaced from their homes at different points throughout history.

The increased presence of the terrorist Arakan Army in Arakan State has created fear among ethnic communities. Ethnic communities across Arakan State are facing fear, violence, and crimes from the terrorist AA, leaving the Rohingya and other ethnic communities without peace and freedom.

The AA militant captured alive from an AA outpost during the fighting on 24 September is being kept in our custody with safety and security, unlike the way the terrorist Arakan Army (AA) treats Rohingya civilians in its custody, subjecting them to various forms of persecution.
